Where is Desiccant Dehumidification used?
Desiccant Dehumidification is utilized to reduce and control air stream moisture
levels at various temperatures to satisfy many process and storage
applications. Desiccant Dehumidification may be utilized to achieve very low
air stream dew point temperatures enabling air to be cooled below the usual
point of frost formation on cooling coils.
How Model VDH works:
Drier Desiccant impregnated wheel media is rotated into the more humid Process
Air stream from the Regeneration Air stream. The Desiccant adsorbs moisture
vapor from the Process Air stream and holds it until the media again rotates
into the Regeneration air stream. The Desiccant releases the adsorbed moisture
into the low vapor pressure Regeneration Air stream, then exhausted. The
Process Bypass damper is modulated to maintain constant Process Air discharge
moisture levels at less than maximum unit capacity, such as when ambient
conditions are less severe than design days.
